Art education program has proved beneficial to schools in NYC in many ways. For instance, the introduction of art education in NYS schools played a great deal in helping schools to reduce dropout rates, increase GPAs and even enhanced students understanding of some subjects like math leading to better scores (Kennedy, 2006). Also, art plays a great deal in rewarding funding for some schools in New York, and this has led to better outcomes and consequently more employment rates for some of the graduates. The employment of the graduates also brings about positive effects since there will be more local tax streams that would support the schools to feed itself. Reports from the committee on arts and humanities postulate that there is a positive art education outcome. Arts can also benefit schools by supporting intrinsic value for the development of artistic skills and cultural literacy as well as other techniques(Kennedy, 2006). Schools also benefited from high quality arts education in some categories like better student achievements shown by improved math and language performance. Students could also transfer their skills from arts to other academic disciplines. For instance, music intrusion could cause the development of some reasoning skills.
