Society faces moral conflicts derived from generation of new knowledge, scientific development, its dissemination and application. Technological advances and globalization cannot be solved with the referents and traditional moral codes that exist today. It is a reality with technological advances, such as medicine, and those in the field of information and communications that pose ethical challenges and require novel proposals on how to educate in ethical values.
Therefore, it is important to reflect on the possible implications of technological changes in people's lives, and what the effects may be on social groups, environment, and quality of life of all beings that inhabit the planet. Scientific and technological development, and the public use of its benefits are aspects that also require reflection with ethical perspective (Brisboisa & Plamondon, 2018). Thus, changes in several aspects that bring innovation, scientific and technological development to our lives create ethical dilemmas as in advanced medical treatments (Reinares, Olarte, & Pelegrin, 2018). In terms of technological advance, it should be questioned whether everything that can be done must be done. In accordance with the above concepts, it is necessary to establish new methodologies for conducting research and technological development projects to identify and to measure the risks and benefits of the results that can be achieved, and the degree to which they help to solve problems humanity faces.
