Ethical theories are helpful when humans make arguments and draw conclusions. Socrates’ question, “how should one live?” is about reflecting one’s life and does not bring any exclusive moral claims. This question revolves around moral and ethical considerations, and it means that a person can live their best way by doing what they want most at any given time. To live a better, worthy life is not just by blindly following instincts, customs, or convictions but rather a life that allows people to think about themselves and things by open-mindedly wondering, contemplating, and self-examination (Williams, 2011, p.1).
People should live a good life by having a purpose and direction, abiding by certain ethics and morals, and not just seeking satisfying pleasures. The question of how we should live relates to morality in that people should keep honesty as their policy and not breach things that are unethical. Thus, people should consider interests that can better their lives in such a way that they need to be committed to their responses and attitudes on wrong and right things.
