ISRAEL FOREIGN POLICY Israel finished withdrawing its troops from Gaza in 2012.The media covered settlers as the people who were in very serious problems who needed help urgently though it was not the evacuated area and therefore, Gaza was not be called an occupied territory. However, all the above have not materialized, instead, the situation continues to deteriorate and the innocent people who live in Gaza are the ones who are facing the blunt of the war. Currently, the Gaza strip is critically experiencing economic catastrophe that emanated from the failure to honor the previous agreements on both sides. The original agreement that was drafted, said that, there was no Israel military officer even a civilian was to remain in the evacuated territory. Israel does not care what the international community says when it is on war. This is the time the Palestinians are trying to come up into terms with the war, and assessing the reckless destruction that was caused by the Israel government. The war itself was unwarranted if the two parties had sat together and began looking for amicable ways of solving the impasse. The United States corporate media coverage of the problems between Israel and Palestine is completely biased and the issues on the ground are not fairly covered. The United States of America media, its policy and they are completely biased and the information given is tilted towards Israel. It is as if the Palestinians are always on the wrong and the Israel government on the right. This shows how the United States media buys the story that is propagated by the Israel government at the expense of the Palestinians who are suffering. This prevents the Americans and the rest of the people in the whole world who depend on these media from getting the true picture of what is happening. The Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, personally in September admitted that the intention of the Israel government was to cause war crimes. He even told his parliament that he wanted to make sure that nobody sleeps peacefully in Gaza. He acknowledged the policy of Israel to punish the 1.4 million Palestinians’ who live in that territory. This is against the Geneva Convention. However the united states media does not see that instead in the whole of the month of September, the new York times, the Washington post and the La times did not clearly report the story although it was everywhere in the public limelight. The three newspapers which are leading in the United States of America did publish their editorials, strongly supporting the position of the Israel government to retaliate in case they are attacked. The newspapers, do not put it clear that the revenge carried out by the Israel government was always disproportional .For the whole month of September, the three newspapers, have not been bringing out the information vividly that most of those who were killed and the ones who continue to be killed are not militants but just ordinary men, women and children who were innocent. When the Washington post reported that it supported the overthrow of the Hamas led government, the information was not balanced and fair because from the Palestinians perspective, the Hamas led government is legitimate and deserves the necessary support it needs to get. However, there are a few positive things they have reported especially towards the end of the month of September and the first week of October. This is the case even in the international Western media. As the Palestinians go through the rubbles to see what they can salvage after the unnecessary war, the mainstream media in the United States of America cannot see that, but continues see Palestinians as militants, extremist and terrorists. The people, who rely entirely on theses media outlets, cannot get the accurate picture on the ground on what happened, and the kind of destruction that was caused, if the media does not report fairly and the views of all the parties that are involved in the conflict.
