1 Political concept of leadership
Leadership focuses on authority and making sound decisions. Figuring out the right thing to be done to tell the members what it is and assuming that it will be done.
Political leadership aims at bringing people together who have conflicting issues and work on their differences so that they can be productive. Obtaining power to get things done is very vital , despite, that leadership is not necessarily associated with position or authority.
Challenge. Conflict can be as a result when individuals struggle to obtain power so as to promote their. interest. This is the major reason as to why people do not want to be leaders.
Opportunities. Political leadership aims to supportive coalitions that meets the objectives. (Maccoby) public service managers half the capacity to develop right coalitions to push new bills through Congress and create new unions to save jobs in New York states.
2 Human qualities concept of leadership.
Leadership is linked with readership styles, skills knowledge, personal characteristics, traits and hands of leaders. Style and charisma are entirely brought in as categories to view the more elusive part of leadership.
Panel deliberation called attention to ethical commitment, risk taking, self knowledge, character, and courage as leadership qualities.
Charisma leaders take risk and sacrifice and this tends to show that they are more confident in their positions which they hold. They’re commitment is on higher level and they take risk which might destroy them.
Leader’s egocentric worry of how they look, leads to self confidence. The more concerned with expanding people’s knowledge and what will help people. When they are criticized, they do not focus on their bad side, rather they aim at how this critics can help.
(Porter) leaders must have integrity no matter neither how they communicate not how inspirational they are.
