The State of Ohio's hazard management policy protects the public from exposure to hazardous materials. The policy requires that all facilities that use or store hazardous materials have an emergency response plan ("All Hazard Mitigation Plan", 2020). The reason is to minimize the potential for human exposure to hazardous materials during an emergency. The policy also requires that facilities must provide training to their employees on how to handle and store hazardous materials safely. The reason is to ensure that employees are prepared to take proper safety precautions when working with or around hazardous materials.
