Discrimination at Workplace

Institution:
Racial Discrimination at Workplace
Discrimination against someone (an employee or applicant) based on the person’s race, color, age, gender, nationality, disability or genetic information is illegal. Similarly, it is illegal to retaliate against a person because he or she complained about the discrimination, filed a case of discrimination, or participated in an investigation pertaining to discrimination. Actually, the law discourages discrimination at all costs. Therefore, adding data related to racial discrimination in hiring and workplace practices is strictly against the laws (Jennifer, 2007).
Employment Discrimination laws take on the responsibility to prevent discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin and age by employers. A body of law like EEOC prevents discriminatory practices including bias during hiring, promotion, advertisement, retaliation and other types of discriminations.
For instance, EEOC laws prohibit the use of neutral employment practices that have negative effects on applicants or employees of a certain race, sex, age, national origin, or individuals with disability, if the practices are not related to the job and are not necessary for operation of the business. As a result, additional information should be job-related based on reasonable factor other than race. If an employer requires issuing a test to job applicants or forms to be filled, the information required in the form or the test must be necessary and job-related and must not exclude people from a certain race or color. It also illegal for employers to consider an applicant’s race or color when making decisions about jobs. People from a certain race or color are only excluded from a test when the employer can proof that the test is related to the job in question and is absolutely necessary.

Brown colored people come in between the whites and the blacks. They have more voice and power in Latin America than in US. The brown color is a result of the intermarriage between the white and blacks in the Latin American Nations (Markert, 2010). Racial identification in these nations is influenced by one’s level of education and political position
Generally, the blacks are treated as inferior citizens in Latin America. They were taken in a s slaves to the white men and have never attained equality to the whites. They are branded stereotypes as lazy, stupid, foolish, cowards, submissive, irresponsible, childish, violent, sub-humans, and animal-like. These...
