Gender equality and empower all women and girls
Gender inequality continues to deter women and deny them their rights and opportunities that are available in the society. This development goal seeks to empower women through deal with social traditions and norms such as the female genital mutilation, sexual violence, and early marriages and work exploitation.
This development goal also advocates for better housing for women and girls all over the world and aims at ensuring that there legal structures that can fight for the rights of women and girls in the society.
Individuals can help promote this SDG in many ways including raising awareness on issues regarding women and girls in the society. To propel this, individuals can research on the major challenges women and girls face in the society, learn about what hinders women and girls in the society from getting empowered and realizing their dreams and then communicate to the people what they have learned through many channels of communication like the social media, the print media and the mass media. Individuals can also organize meetings with members of the communities on the importance of empowering women and girls in the community.in so doing, the members of the community can change their mindset and focus on empowering women and girls in order achieve the benefits that accrue from empowerment.
