The History of Canada and its Relationship with U.S

Vancouver played a critical role in the birth of Canada as a nation following its independence in 1867. The agreement to link the east and west coast through railway extension was crucial in integrating British Columbia into Canada. The Canadian Pacific Railway extended the railway to Vancouver, particularly passing through the center of False Greek town. The Canadian Federation government granted large tracts of land as an incentive to support the extension of the railway and the ability to generate revenue. Vancouver gained independence in 1868, and rapid population growth followed, leading to the leasing of some CPR land to generate income.
Furthermore, politicians advocate for industrial growth that instigates Vancouver to act as a service production hub. The growth of the city prompted housing and infrastructural development. The robust political system advocated for social engineering, pushing the local, provincial and federal governments to build houses. Li Ka Shing and his family's company registered in Canada in 1988 and bought land following the privatization wave. Geller (2020) highlights that False Greek is presently a hub of innovation despite Vancouver's history. The Hong Kong entrepreneurs develop Vancouver and False Greek, which motivates more immigrants into the area to become the Pacific Asian gateway city.
Detroit is the equivalent of Vancouver as a gateway city. Detroit City lies along the U.S.-Canada border. It exemplifies immigration into the country by having the largest Lebanese, Yemeni, Iraqi, and Hindu-Indian population in the U.S. Detroit City played a vital role in the U.S. industrial revolution and is known for its robust automotive industry. Windsor-Detroit gateway facilitates rapid movement of people and goods between the U.S. and Canada.
