According to scholarly research, toxic people are characterized by individuals who constantly pull down or discourage others, are unaccommodating, manipulative, worthless, or valueless in someone's life. A toxic person presupposes responsibilities for the presence of others whereas endorsing nothing to value them. Defensively, avoiding pessimistic people is a wise move that promotes positive thinking and empowers individuals to develop and contribute to their lives.
Keeping a strategic distance from worthless and toxic people allows people to gain confidence, increase their value, and appreciate themselves for who they are. Toxic people make others feel inferior by perceiving their activities, behavior, arrangements, and practices as unprofessional (Min, 2018). According to Del Real (2018), people who constantly remind others of their discontents and imperfection are toxic because they tend to make others feel as if they are valueless and unworthy of living. Therefore, it is recommendable to yourself away from toxic people so that individuals can value themselves and develop inspirational mindsets toward life.

Some people's toxicity is motivated by a desire to change others to be more like them and constantly controlled to continue with an alternative way of living (Del Real, 2018). Toxic people think of negativities on issues like susceptibilities, frustrations, dissatisfactions, and obstructions. For instance, according to Min (2018), toxic people perceive and assert that other individuals cannot have valid dreams or set their goals. A toxic person will make others believe that there is nothing good in their lives, and individuals should not think of making any progress in life. According to these illustrations, it is advisable to stay away from toxicity because this is a valid option that helps other people contemplate emphatically, empower themselves to improve their lives, and become better individuals in the future.
Similarly, it is necessary to avoid toxic people because such individuals have static attitudes that cannot upgrade their lives to another better level. Toxic people's personalities are best explained by the Operant Molding Hypothesis, which states that people procure or learn new morals and conduct through reiteration and fortifications of refinement (Al Sandi & Ugalde, 2019). People become accustomed to the feeling that they were doomed to be disappointed when they are constantly assisted in recalling their disappointments and miserable past. Toxic persons use their past failures to ensure that their friends do not invest in advancing their careers or expanding their businesses.
