Workplace conflict can be uncomfortable for everyone in an organization and result to a negative environment. Conflict arises in a situation where there are incompatible interests between the workplace participants. Fortunately, understanding the causes of conflict can help prevent the factors that lead to workplace conflict and encourage the participants on how to overcome these difficulties. Interpersonal conflict is one of the most prevalent types of conflict that face workplace participants. In many workplaces, it is easy to see the outcomes of rumors, office politics, and gossip. Besides, personality styles and language tend to clash thereby creating a conflict among the participants. Also, there is strong racial, ethnocultural and gender conflict among the participants.
