Contribution to College’s Mission and Vision
For strategic planning of any organization's management to be effective, there are two crucial tools required- a vision statement and its mission statement. The two serve as guides for creating the organisation's goals and objectives, thus providing a road-map that everyone has to follow. A vision statement, in particular, describes the organisation's future state. Also, it communicates the organization's purpose to its employees and other stakeholders. On the other hand, the mission statement describes the organization's current state and its primary goals. The College of Nursing, being a large organization, cannot miss having its mission and vision statements. Its vision is to become a distinguished leader in advancing nursing and global health. In contrast, its mission is to transform healthcare, policy, and health through the generation of knowledge, translation, and education of future leaders from various backgrounds. By making one or two contributions to the mission and vision statements as the college’s student and alumni, I can help advance healthcare services and the nursing profession at large.
