The European Union Presidency as Supranational
The European Union is arguably the largest economy in the world, as the organization serves millions of people across 28 European states. Notably, the European Union’s presidency is responsible for managing the function of the union’s council as well as the legislature’s upper house. Furthermore, it is essential to state that the presidency rotates amongst the member states through the elections. Elections happen after every six months and they are held by the national government rather than an individual. The European Union’s presidency is more of a supranational, and that is because the governments of the member states are the ones who hold the negotiated powers that rotates to different nations after every six months.
