It has often been held by many stakeholders that the selection panel should be held responsible for the failure of employees they selected in their respective jobs. This, I totally agree because before a selection panel is chosen in any organization, there are considerations put to ensure that the people in the panel posses adequate knowledge to scrutinize the qualification of any employee. In a situation where the selected employees fail to perform up to standards required, it is the selection panel which should be held responsible. Performance amongst employees in their respective jobs depends solely on the professional qualification except in a few cases. Thus, whenever employees who have selected by a selection panel fail to deliver in their respective jobs, it becomes obvious that the selecting panel did not follow proper selection criteria, and are responsible.
In the current employment sectors, the selection panel often is an independent body appointed to conduct selection on their behalf. Afterwards, the selection panel selects employees depending on the scores they exhibited while being interviewed. In many cases, when proper selection is done, it is rare to find employees who fail in their jobs. Research indicates that individuals who fail to perform in their jobs are either lazy, do not possess the necessary skills or are not interested in the job. These are concerns which the selection panel can identify in individuals through thorough interviews. Thus, when employees fail to perform in their respective jobs, the selection panel should hold responsible for not following the right process of selection (Hunt, S. 2007, 97).
It is, however, difficult at times for the selection panel to identify right employees for some employees may perform better in the interview, and once employed relax in doing their jobs. In some instances, the organization itself frustrates employees through low remuneration package or wrong management style, ...
