Introduction
Morrow (2013) carried out a survey research to investigate on an answer on who values the young people’s aspirations and experiences of schooling. The study was undertaken at Andhra Pradesh in India where the sample was selected among the various households in the region. The researcher tried to balance the responsibilities and the future expectations in their families. The article of Morrow (2013) emphasised the importance of school attendance as the primary factor in creating human capital. As we all know, education is the key to success for both the individual and the society as a whole. Through education, a person is equipped with the knowledge and skills that enable him to acquire employment. The law in most of the countries provides that it is the right of every child to be given education and most specifically in primary school (Clark, 2009). One may think though about his or her experience in their young lives and how it influenced their professional roles. Policies, health, and social care are inevitable factors whenever discussing the value of the young lives in the economy. Policies vary from one country to another but are associated with our experiences on how such policies are disseminated and implemented.
Dissemination Strategy for Morrow (2013) research project
The research on who values young lives provides various policies and social-economic background for the children in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The views of the children on matters and dimensions of their lives were given priority in this research. The Morro (2003) research is a critical study that is providing the real situation in children’s lives and not only at Andhra Pradesh in India but also in the whole world. Due to the reality of the project, it is much essential in ensuring that the information and the key idea in the research are capable of reaching the right audiences. The research is targeting all the interested parties with the concern of shaping the lives of children in the society. In such cases, it may look difficult to anticipate the audience in advance, but one can just identify the groups or individuals that may find the information in this research or the part of research applicable and useful to them. According to this project, parents, health institutions and the government are the mostly identified audiences for this report. Parents play a great role in the lives of children right from the early stages. According to Baker (2007), health institution will need information about young lives and more specifically the lives of the disabled children. The government is responsible for creating and enforcing policies regulating the lives of the children. The government is regarded as the policy maker in the Morrow (2013) research. However, the greatest encounter in this children research is on the dissemination strategies. After one is capable of identifying the audience, the dissemination process becomes more effective and efficient. Dissemination refers to the systematic process of spreading the findings of a study. The process takes place after the research project is carried out and the researcher disseminates his or her findings to the participants and also to the specific audiences. Effective communication channels are essential in developing and executing the dissemination strategy for the research findings. The key idea here is all about passing the information on the findings of the research to the targeted audiences. With today’s state of technology, communication has become much easy with the utilization of the internet. It is, therefore, my suggestion that Morrow (2013) research findings be published in various reliable websites where any concerned party can easily have access to the information. Such websites may include the United Nations, UNESCO, Integrated Tribal Development Agency and other health institutions website. Health institutions will require such kind of information of young lives and most especially when confronted with cases of disabled children. Where the internet cannot be used due to the level of technology and illiteracy, then the policy makers or the government should play their role in disseminating the research information to the right audiences.
Discussion
According to the findings in the Morrow (2013) research on children project, it is revealed that young people possess a great sense of obligations to their parents and the society at large. The future economic growth of a country lies in the hands of today’s young generation (Clark, 2009). The aim of this project is to create the awareness of the causes and consequences of childhood and young lives. The researcher also aims at improving the understanding of the policies governing the life of the children and their rights. The survey was carried out with the sample from both rural and urban regions to ensure an effective representative of the entire population of interest.
Social lives have also been addressed as as means towards understanding the norms, values, ideals and aspirations shared by individuals in particular locations and cultures. The findings of the study revealed the social anthropology and cross-cultural factors and how various cultures possess differing ideas on how children develop and learn. Children have great role and responsibilities to undertake in the economy of the country (Rogoff and Serpell, 2011). In the global policy context, a report from Unites Nations stated that what counts a successful transition to adulthood is clearly defined in the research on children and the young lives. For instance, Lloyd (2005) carries out a project identifying various attributes of successful translations of the young lives.
Education has been portrayed as the main factor in facilitating the translation of the young lives from childhood to productive adults. With education, the output of the individuals tends to be higher compared to those in the economy that does not value the education of the children. Availability and affordability of higher education level contribute more to the economic growth of a country due to the reduction in the level of unemployment. Just as it was mentioned earlier, education helps in equipping the young generation with knowledge and skills that is much essential in their career development (Arnold, 2010). India has experienced a significance economic growth over the past two decades. However, there is much concern about the rising inequality of the social indicators in the young lives and their quality of life. The level of education of the children will mostly depend on the family background of the child. For example, those that come from the financially stable families are more likely to get access to high-quality education than the ones from a poor background. Morrow (2013) also put into consideration the provisions and policies for less fortune children with the aim of bringing equality in the young lives. Good examples of the less fortune are the disabled children and the children from the poor backgrounds and most, especially in the rural areas.
Different research with children have proved the importance of education to the young lives. However, it is not in all cases that children have the access to education, and it is, therefore, the role of government to ensure equality in the social factors affecting the lives of the children. The government of India and in most of the countries across the world have tried to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor by offering at least free primary education. Primary education is important for children as it helps in shaping their future. Morrow's (2013) research on children is very important to the government as it provides more information about the young lives. The project provides a clear understanding of the social and economic factors affecting the childhood of the youths and provide remedies of how such factors can be addressed. It is therefore very important to develop an effective dissemination strategy that will enhance distribution of the research information to appropriate audiences.
Conclusion and recommendations
Different audiences may require different dissemination strategies as described below;
Parents – Parents are the closest group in need of the information about young lives. As mentioned earlier in the Morrow (2013) project, parents play a vital role in shaping the lives of children and therefore, they should be the first target audience in the research with children. To ensure that the information reaches the parents in various parts of the country, one needs to come up with appropriate strategies for passing the information. In today’s population, technology has become a leading factor in the economy, and it is essential to make good utilization of this technology pass the information to the parents. Most of the parents in India and any other developed country have access to the internet and therefore when such information is made available to the particular website, parents can have a quick access to it (Ruxton, 2014). However, one of the drawbacks of this strategy is the lack of internet in the rural areas. In such a case door-to-door campaigns should be carried out to facilitate dissemination of the Morrow (2013) research findings. This can be achieved with the help of the government support.
