Abstract
The knowledge processes used for the evaluation of the subject were performed by different case studies. The principal problem represented by the topic is the general lack of public awareness surrounding dementia in terms of what it is and how it affects people. The study utilised twelve case studies under a systematic review that entailed a PICO and Prisma methodology to search for studies that featured isolation, depression, social inclusion/exclusion and loneliness as the criteria. These studies were the foundation as the information and findings gleaned from them represented the basis for the systematic review that was the basis for a critical appraisal, systematic review protocol, and the use of inclusion/exclusion criteria that detailed the approach used for each study and the selection process.
The above areas aided in the development of a quality assessment for each study, along with a detailed explanation of the data extraction process for each case study. This was an important stage as it provided a foundation for use in the data synthesis that utilised a narrative format due to the different contexts of the studies that did not permit a meta-analysis approach due to the differences in the intervention processes. The foundational aspects from these segments provided the basis for delving into the results of each of the studies along with their individual discussions where the isolation, depression, social inclusion/exclusion and loneliness aspects were brought out.
