Paradigms in Organizational Theory. Management Essay (Essay Sample)
This perspective of organizational theory views the organization as being a community thus it does not need hard evidence like the modernist perspective to be effective. Organizations that apply this perspective often perform very well in an environment that is unstable, unlike organizations that employ modernist perspective which usually work well in stable organizations. The behavior of members affects both the individual and the group collectively because traits can be passed from one member to another.
Discuss how each of the three main paradigms in organization theory (Modernist, Symbolic Interpretive, Postmodern) explain the behaviour of organizational members and what theorists from each perspective consider the best way to study this behaviour.
