Globalization has had a significant influence on the economic, social, and cultural lives of most populations around the world. As a result, many scholars have embarked on conducting extensive studies to help understand how, and to what extent, it has affected different communities around the world. Understanding how globalization affects different aspects of our lives helps us comprehend how we should adapt to this global phenomenon that only seems to be getting stronger. Although there are several studies that have been done to understand the impact of globalization on specific societies, there is still more that needs to be done since globalization has affected almost aspects of everyday life. One area that has received considerable amount of attention is how globalization has affected food culture of various societies around the world. Some have argued that globalization has had a negative impact on food culture since it has led to the adoption of new food items as the traditional ones are slowly neglected. On the other hand, some have argued that globalization has had a positive impact on food culture since it gives people a chance to share their food and also learn about new ones. Globalization has had a positive impact on food culture since it has provided avenues that promote food diversity on a global scale.
