This essay aims to present certain aspects of the curatorial work behind the organization of an exhibition. The exhibition under discussion is entitled “Art and Epidemics: The Past and Present” and its scope is to support the current ongoing fight between the medical world and COVID-19, though the comfort that art provides to the spirit and soul. Moreover, the exhibition will focus on the work of artists from different movements and geographic boundaries to underline that illness and suffering is a reappearing phenomenon but humanity always manages to survive. The works that will be included are; Napoleon in the Plague House at Jaffa by Antoine-Jean Gros (1804), The Raft of the Medusa by Théodore Géricault (1818-19), and Self-Portrait with the Spanish Flu by Edward Munch (1919).
