The cardiovascular system (also called the circulatory system) is a system of organs, blood vessels, and cells that work together to supply the body with oxygen, nutrients, and hormones. It's important because it helps people stay healthy and happy. Numerous disorders, such as cardiovascular disease, pose a serious threat to the cardiovascular system and have severe repercussions on the body.
The term "cardiovascular disease" consists a wide range of conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure, angina, and strokes. The cardiovascular system consists of the heart, the arteries, and the blood. The heart is a muscle organ that circulates blood by flexing and stretching its muscular walls.
