Introduction
The cardiovascular system (also called the circulatory system) is a system of organs, blood vessels, and cells that work together to supply the body with oxygen, nutrients, and hormones. It's important because it helps people stay healthy and happy. Numerous disorders, such as cardiovascular disease, pose a serious threat to the cardiovascular system and have severe repercussions on the body.
The term "cardiovascular disease" consists a wide range of conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure, angina, and strokes. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), CVD is the leading. cause of death globally, that is responsible for almost 17.9 million deaths per year. Although chest discomfort, shortness of breath, and a fast or irregular heartbeat are common indicators of cardiovascular illness, the specific manifestations of each condition are different.
Anatomy and Physiology:
The cardiovascular system consists of the heart, the arteries, and the blood. The heart is a muscle organ that circulates blood by flexing and stretching its muscular walls. Blood that has been oxygen deprived is pumped from the body into the atria, where it is oxygenated before being pumped back out to the body.
The arteries, veins, and capillaries are the vessels that are responsible for carrying blood to and away from the heart. Blood that has been exposed to oxygen travels through arteries and returns to the heart through veins. To deliver oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to cells, the body relies on capillaries, the smallest
