Causes, Effects, and Treatment of Breast Cancer
Cancer that forms in the breast’s cell is known as breast cancer. In the United States, this type of cancer is the second most common cancer after skin cancer. Moreover, it is common in women; however, it can also occur in men. Furthermore, it is the main cause of death among women globally (Bates et al. 5). This is because the developing countries go through various difficulties, infrastructure, and resources difficulties in recognizing, diagnosing, and treating it. According to the World Health Organization, the foundation of the regulation of breast cancer is the detection of this disease at an early stage. Additionally, there are modern medicines used in the treatment of breast cancer. Hormonal therapy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy are some strategies to be undertaken by any individual identified with breast cancer (Bates et al. 8). At enhancing survival rates and quality of life, management is essential for individuals with distant metastasis. According to research, there should be an alternative way of reducing the side effect of the treatment of breast cancer. Thus, according to research, there are various causes, effects, and treatment of breast cancer.
Causes of Breast Cancer
When abnormal breast cells begin to grow, doctors term this as breast cancer. A mass or lump is likely to form since this cell divides rapidly, hence accumulating healthy cells. Moreover, most often, breast cancer starts in the milk-producing ducts (Bessonneau and Rudel 189). Additionally, it can start lobules, which are the glandular tissue or tissue within the breast. However, environmental, hormonal, and lifestyle factors may raise the likelihood of risks of breast cancer. Also, there is no clear evidence why people with these risk factors do not develop while those without do. There has been an identification of the various mutated genes that are inherited causing breast cancer. Breast cancer genes 1 and 2 are the most well-known, which increases the risk of both ovarian and breast cancer.
There should be a medical test of the BRCA if the given family has a history of breast cancer to determine the genes being moved through the family members. Ductal carcinoma, which starts in the milk duct, and lobular carcinoma, which begins in the lobules, are the common types of breast cancer (Bessonneau and Rudel 189). However, invasive breast cancer occurs when the cancer cells start suddenly in the lobules hence invading the surrounding tissues. Thus, the chances of opening out to various parts of the body ate therefore increased. Thus, it can be concluded that the complex interaction of the individual’s environment and genetic makeup is the primary cause of breast cancer.
