Introduction
Buyers’ decision on product purchase is influenced by how the product was presented to them at first sight. Companies compete on presenting their products to clients to increase their sales volumes. A company displays its products with a desire to get a share of the competitive market. Hence, it calls for creativity on firms to present their products in an attractive way. Many factors influence how and what buyers’ purchases but site design make a major contribution. Clement argues that most buyers make decisions based on visual cues, the most influential being the site design (24). Site design consists of three major components: the structure, the color, and the graphics. Structure constitutes the simplicity to access information by the visitor. Color represents the eye reflex feeling of a texture and graphic is the picture information and fonts selection. A site with the best selection of the aforementioned components attracts more visitors as compared to competitors (Aldeman 45). Organized sites give businesses a competitive advantage over poorly designed ones. Apparently, in the current business world, most product search is online; classy sites attract clients’ attention most. With the number of sites competing for clients online and an array of products presented, a well-designed and attractive site influences buyers’ decision to make the purchase of the products displayed. Therefore, when making a site design, the uttermost consideration should be the visual appearance to attract large number of visitors. The higher the number of attracted site visitors the higher the chances of them making a buying decision on the visited site. Aldeman stated that there is enough evidence showing that a site design has a major impact in making a purchase decision (62). A well-designed site can influence users’ interaction and largely the product choice. Site components; structure, color and graphics are applied to attract and influence purchase.
The Body
In site design, many factors impress clients when they do online shopping. Structure of the site plays a significant role in search and purchase decision. Clients are interested in the information flow and layout as they navigate to get to know the products presented. Organized and easy to access information makes clients search simple and tends to influence their decision positively. In a complicated site, the search become tiresome and the clients fail to get the specific information they are looking for, they then turn to other sites. When the prospective buyers desert your site, you lose to make sales. The site design that is user focused and friendly from the headline, spacing and navigating keys directs consumers on where to get the information. Where the navigation is simple and the number of clicks reduced, the information access become simple and clients make the decision to purchase easily (Mandel and Bellman 56-60). The structural design of the site, for that reason, influences the buyers’ decision to make a purchase.
On the other hand, an appealing site to the eyes of the buyer, tend to lure more visits. Color component is for visual attraction, as displayed on the site windows. Its selection for graphics and fonts on the site influences site likes and the decision to make a purchase (Clement 24). Clients spend much of their time on attractive sites and even do a referral to their friends. Many colors on the site make it look dirty; also, a light font on a lighter background reduces visibility. Moreover, a dark font on a dark background look blurred; this strains customers’ eyes as they opt for clear sites. It is comprehensible then, that the color of the site influences buyers’ decision on purchase. The text should be large enough to enhance visibility, and the fonts contrast the background.
Setting up the best web site graphics is crucial in attracting prospective clients. The likelihood ...
