Trends in Facebook Privacy Breach
In the recent past, there have been concerns over the breach of privacy by Facebook. Users of the social media platform have alleged that their personal information is accessed without consent. Facebook has been accused of exposing the data of users to third parties. While these allegations amount to a breach of security, the company has refuted the claims. The security breaches by the company have enabled attackers to gain access to the profiles of victims, as well as private messages. The unauthorized access to the Facebook accounts of users compromises their private information. The users and the firm should employ certain measures to prevent access to social media accounts by hackers.
The breach of privacy by Facebook came to the limelight in 2018 when it was alleged that Cambridge Analytica, a consultancy firm, accessed the data of fifty million United States voters.
