Cherished Memories
When one leaves their home for either a permanent or a temporary relocation, often they tend to pack their valuables necessities. Sometimes people can leave in a hurry in instances of wars or natural catastrophes like floods and earthquakes. In the event of a crisis, people do not have time to pack many things but only manage to carry important valuables. If am caught in such a situation, I will quickly rush in, grab my photo album, and keep it inside my bag. My brief life story is simply described by flips of an old, stained pages of my photo album. I remember scolding my late younger brother for spilling black tea over it. I ended up masking it up with a black polythene material, which gave it a textbook look.
We often do not recognize the value of photo albums until it is too late. Frequently, we tend to start flipping through photo albums to try find photos, which can rekindle memories with a person only when he or she is no longer around. Personally, I treasure photographs because it helps me remember both the good and bad times in life. Generally, at the end of flipping over the pages of my album, I end up getting a smile on my face. As much as it is my album, it also contains family photos too.
Why jumping and carrying my album and not any other item? The photo album contains the pictures I took since I was in elementary school, through high school until to date. It also has pictures of my family and relatives even those I have never met. When I go through the photos, It gives me the prove of my existence, as it covers the journey of my life, and I also see it like a documentary presentation of my life. It covers both the happy and somber moments of my life.
The first picture in the album uusually makes me chuckle every time I look at it. It was a photo of me when I was eight months old lying facing up on a wooded kid bed. I looked chubby sucking my fingers. I often compared this pictures with that of my siblings, and at infant we resembled each other more than after we grew up. The look on my face at that picture seems to be communicating the uncertainty of my life’s fate which is being answered by the next pictures.
In most of the photos at my early childhood, it is dominated by photos of my late younger brother and I. Todd, and I were more than brothers, and when I flip to the images of him with me, I find tears cascading down my pale cheeks. Todd liked video games and in most pictures, he could pose like crouching, holding, an imaginative Xbox pads. Todd died from electrocution whe...
