Reflective Report
Introduction
This course has assisted me in developing critical intellectual skills that will serve me well in my career and personal life. These study tactics have boosted my confidence and competence and my sense of self-worth. They have also been proven to reduce the stress associated with examinations and deadlines. I have reduced my time studying due to this lesson, giving me more freedom to concentrate on other aspects of my life. Among the talents, I've learned are interpersonal abilities that may be employed while talking with people and can help me participate more productively on teams. As a result, Driscoll's What reflective Model will be utilized in this report to provide context for the most critical academic abilities I have gained and their effect. This technique will start by discussing the event or experience that served as the basis for the learning. This will provide a crystal-clear picture of the skill being addressed. The report will next analyze the incident by asking, "So what?" before delving into the lessons that may be drawn from it.
Time Management
Time management is managing and arranging one's time among several duties. Those who can use this talent successfully work smarter, not harder, to do more in less time, even when time is limited, and pressure is high. By acquiring this talent, I understood its numerous components, one of which is task prioritization (TP), which refers to the ability to plan and carry out tasks in the order of importance and is regarded as a vital non-technical skill (Clockify, n.d.). The task-related criteria of duration, urgency, relevance, technique, and reward are examined throughout the prioritization process.
Furthermore, using a calendar or notebook to record any errands or activities is one of the most crucial aspects of efficient time management. You will feel more successful and motivated if you can check tasks off your list as you do them (Sainz et al., 2019). In addition, it is critical to establish the deadline for the project a few days ahead so that the individual has time to accomplish any responsibilities that may prevent them from completing the task (Clockify, n.d.). This helps you to push yourself, fulfill deadlines, and reward yourself for achieving a challenging task. Finally, many people need help to eliminate procrastination because they prefer to engage when bored or upset.
On the other hand, this competency promotes including shorter, more enjoyable daily activities to break up the more significant, more challenging duties. As a result, this skill assists one in organizing each day so that work may be completed with little effort and available time can be utilized to its full potential (Clockify, n.d.). This skill provides many advantages, including improved clarity, higher capacity, and increased confidence. People may become more focused and productive when they know how to maximize their time. More effective use of time will allow you to do more, minimize procrastination, and enhance output.
Summarizing
Summarizing has taught me how to identify the most critical concepts in a book, remove extraneous stuff, and integrate my most essential thoughts in a meaningful manner. By providing a brief overview of the material, this talent improves one's recall of what they have read. Almost every subject may benefit from summarizing strategies. One of the many styles of summarizing that I've learned is the informative summary, which presents the essential information and conclusions from the original text (Vedantu, 2022). When a description is necessary, the critical difference is that one may add an opinion on the original work; therefore, one is judging the original work's quality. It is evaluative when a description is required, but the main difference is that one may add an opinion on the original work and assess its quality (Vedantu, 2022). When needed, illustration, with the significant difference that one may provide a statement on the original work. Where a description is required, but with a critical distinction that may be added, Most of your summaries will be little more than one paragraph long. They are usually recognized in the relevant literature review.
Not only will rewriting knowledge in your own words help you remember it better, but it will also help you study more quickly, which is particularly important if the exam type is a short response or essay. This is one of the critical benefits of having this talent. I can convey significantly more information via my own words than through another person's words. I was well aware that restating anything is analogous to gold prospecting. It makes it easier to find and locate each paragraph's most critical issues and features (Vedantu, 2022). The capacity to notice and understand the most vital components of the material being examined is required for successful learning. The only information that should be included in the summary statements is the most important ideas and facts. They should be golden in color. As a result of acquiring this skill, I can easily create reports with a wealth of ideas, present words sequentially pulled from other texts, and provide various summaries based on the context and audience.
