A competent teacher may provide hope, stimulate the imagination, and instill a desire to learn. Although there is broad consensus that teachers have an essential part in defining students' educational success, little is known about the traits that make some teachers more efficient in boosting student accomplishment than others. Every teacher possesses three different qualities, i.e., personality traits, academic achievements, and administrative abilities.
A good teacher has specific personal qualities. A teacher's unique traits are the behaviors, feelings, or the pattern of thoughts he/she portrays. Working in education implies that you are never truly alone. Whether as a paraprofessional or a substitute teacher, or as a classroom teacher, working as a teacher frequently entails working effectively in a team. Collaboration is critical for success in this type of environment (Benekos and Peter 225). Collaborating effectively also requires one to learn from other teachers, whether they have more knowledge or come from a different background. When collaborating with other teachers, it is critical to acquire empathy, comprehension, and communication skills. Collaboration with students also contributes to their performance to a great extent (Genc et al. 49). Good teachers can make a huge difference in their students' lives without even knowing it. Some standards may not always be achieved while working with others, whether students or even other teachers. A teacher's teaching techniques may not be appropriate for a particular class, schedules may change, and changes may be necessary with little or no communication. A good teacher is capable of adapting their methods of teaching and objectives to maintain success. They are ever willing to examine what is effective for their students and make any adjustments. This characteristic is critical for teachers who wish to assist each unique student in achieving success in their class. When teaching, it's vital to always arrange your courses in a manner that maximizes learning. A good teacher must be able to teach effectively. Effective teaching involves more than just educational background. The teacher should communicate with students and assist them in comprehending a new way of viewing the world. Although there are numerous approaches to effective teaching, outstanding teachers share some characteristics. Communication is a factor that is a part of every being's life (Göncz et al. 65). Communication skills can be as simple as teaching a subject or giving instructions. Listening to your student's problems, fears, or concerns can better the relationship between you and your student. Good listening skills can also be helpful for students because it builds up their confidence levels. According to a Turkish saying, "If speaking is silver, listening is gold.". Being a great listener attracts friends and builds rapport with the students. This leads to being patient and understanding the student's perspective. Humility is another essential quality for effective teaching. A good teacher is humble and does not flaunt his or her knowledge. At the same time, they are eager to learn to better their knowledge and skills. They can descend to the level of the student to learn from them. Aside from that, they encourage their students to learn and perhaps even outperform them in terms of knowledge. In addition, they should have passion and interest in the subject they teach. Their excitement and eagerness are contagious to the student. The excellent teacher comes up with a way that simplifies the subject to facilitate understanding and creative ways to generate the student's interest. Moreover, great teachers can shift their gear to customize the lesson and be flexible if things do not work out.
A successful teacher must have intellectual and educational qualifications in his or her field. A teacher's academic background is critical in terms of learning and teaching. Having an academic certificate enables a teacher to teach professionally (Li et al. 1). Skills, experience, and knowledge are very critical when it comes to teaching and learning. To be a good teacher, one must hold an academic certificate in the field of expertise. This enables teachers to be competent in teaching a specific subject matter and be proficient in handling a particular group of students. One of the essential qualities of a good teacher is a commitment to ongoing education and a passion for learning. Whether learning more about your topic area, trying out innovative communication strategies, or looking at ways to incorporate more technology into the class, striving to extend your knowledge is critical to advancing that. Good teachers grow into great teachers by going above and beyond the line of duty and textbooks. To do so, they must further their education. There are workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities that can provide teachers with further digital assistance for their students. Teachers can attend online seminars and courses, as well as physical workshops and classes. Teachers who attend workshops gain essential skills of handling their students and associating with other teachers. They can, in turn, share the skills with their fellow teachers in the fields of expertise they learn at workshops. From these workshops, teachers can meet teaching experts who share the skills of becoming a student's darling. A good teacher must possess excellent preparation and organization skills. If anything is considered a thorough preparation for teaching, a deep understanding of the subject to be taught must take precedence. It is not new or contentious to suggest that subject matter is crucial to a teacher's knowledge. Admittedly, if teaching means assisting others in learning, comprehending what is to be taught is necessary. The several teaching duties, such as identifying meaningful learning activities, providing helpful interpretations, posing productive questions, and assessing students' progress, rely on the teacher's grasp of what students are to study.Pedagogical content knowledge is essential in classroom teaching. A pedagogical content knowledge involves teachers' competency in presenting the specific methodology, contextual knowledge, and discourse competence of the subject matter during the learning
