Book Review for Love and Knowledge
Arthur Zajonc, the author of the article "love and Knowledge" explains how learning can be recovered through contemplation. Throughout the book, he references strong philosophical ideology to put across his message. However, some of his arguments fall out beyond the scope of focus, he analytically arguments out his research in an old-fashioned manner. He argues that contemplation is a practice that everyone should adopt. Additionally, he urges people to embrace the relationship between knowledge, love and contemplation. Moreover, love and knowledge relationship was a rare combination before.
The book cordially describes how modern science manipulates the way people interact with one another. However, the author does not want to change science but he strongly advocates people to redefine it to the purpose of life. Through contemplative inquiry, he promises an epistemology of love. Despite all the knowledge researched about contemplative thinking, it is important to establish that contemplative education is transformative. Nonetheless, critical reflection is a result of academic contemplative pedagogies.
In addition to that, the author points out that human have lost connection with each other due to modern science. He however never fails to mention that the three relationships between love, knowledge and contemplation would be the effective remedy. Since people have diverted their ways to individuation, they have ended up as selfish monads. Zojanc goes further to advice people on the benefits of epithetical love between individuals...
