The slave trade had extensive consequences on all groups that were involved starting from the traders themselves to the subjects. The negative cultural impacts on families and the African societies changed the dynamics African-Americans largely. The most basic destructive impact lay in how slave trade shred the African-American family units. The distress of losing relatives and people being isolated from those who assisted them on basic social roles and provision of continuity took an immeasurable toll of affected regions. The distinction and identity of the African-American culture are founded on the experience of the African-American people. This essay seeks to explain the impact slave trade had on the black experience between 1400 and 1800s.
Slave trade also damaged various aspects of the African cultures due to violence and forced practices. The slave trade left a bequest of violence (Boyd-Franklin, 32). Boyd-Franklin asserts that brutality was the principal situation that shaped the character of the forced relocation along the trade dimensions. The North Americans slave owners hand their sole interest vested on maximizing profits. Resultantly, this allowed extreme physical punishments and excessive perpetuation of sexual abuse that has largely marked the dev elopement of the African-American community.
