Discrimination, Killings, and Criminal Judicial Systems
Metropolitan regions are usually flooded with masses of people which makes them prone to robberies, aggravated assaults, and homicides. In case of outbreak of these forms of violence, the government usually calls police forces to quell these outbursts and restore peace and order. There have been growing concerns that police forces are targeting Black Americans due to the hatred deeply rooted in racism. The available evidence shows that racism plays a significant role in causing a police officer to shoot the suspect more quickly especially if he or she is of Black American origin. Discrimination has extended to our criminal justice systems. Since the start of slavery and slave trade which led to the flooding of Black Americans in the U.S, sentencing laws have been amended to include discriminatory clauses with harshest sanctions being awarded to Blacks. The research examines how racial discriminating increases the number of killings in the United States forcing people to call for a change in our criminal justice system.
