Both the modern and ancient heroes are seen to face obstacles along their journey but they always push on to the end. This paper will compare the Epic Gilgamesh and Captain America epic stories.
In the beginning of Captain America and Gilgamesh’s journey there are a number of similarities and differences. Both of their comics were made by marvel, starting with Captain America, his real name is Steven Rogers who was an orphan by the time he became a hero. His father had passed on earlier when he was a kid and his mother passed on after he graduated. Captain America had always wanted to be in the army but unfortunately he did not qualify reason being he was weak and skinny.
There happened to be an experimental program that was supposed to create super soldiers who would keep the United States safe. Captain America volunteered to be a test of the operation rebirth program which became a success and he further agreed to be part of it. Gilgamesh on the other hand, was half human and partly God, he was made by Adad, Anu and Shamash. Gilgamesh wish and desire was the ability to be immortal. He wanted to live forever and be recognized by all generations of the future.

On the other hand Gilgamesh had Enkidu as his sidekick who was given to Him by the Gods to absorb Gilgamesh’s energy since he was becoming ignorant.
Furthermore, these heroes are seen to face challenges in their journeys but they have different and some similar ways of overcoming them. Evidently, they both show bravery confidence and courage by captain fighting Villains that could not be defeated by anyone else and Gilgamesh being able to defeat the Great Bull of Heaven.
Notably, since their journeys are different they change considering that even their desires were different. Captain America being humble and a hero who wanted to serve his country, he continues with his special mission however his sidekick is killed in a missionCITATION Ste16 \p 600-756 \l 1033 (Stevens 600-756).
