Theories Behind Globalization
Globalization has become a standard topic in political and the academic fields since 1970’s. The term is used to refer to various things, ranging from the cutting-edge technologies all the way to the way the world has become a global village. Globalization, however, appears to be an ambiguous term customarily used to refer to the social way cultures, economies, as well as communities across the globe, are continuously getting interconnected day after day (Harris & Harvey, 1991). Many theories tend to explain the causes and the impacts of this significant change in the social space and time across the globe, and this can be drawn from the claims of various theorists over time. The theorists however mainly disagree on the aspect of the sources and the cause of the globalization but tend to unanimously agree on the advancements that are related to the same such as the growth of technology. For example, all theorists agree that the world has typically become a global village as in the current day today; people can communicate over the internet and phone calls with people who are miles always as if they were just in the same place.
