“Writing an argumentative research paper involves exploring a topic, collecting and analyzing evidence, then establishing a position on the topic. It is called an argumentative research paper because the goal is to form an argument in defense of a specific position.
An argumentative research paper requires extensive research, either by reviewing relevant existing literature or by first-hand data collection through interviews, surveys or experiments. You must collect and analyze a significant amount of research in order to understand competing arguments and develop an appropriate position on the topic. The empirical research then enables you to defend your position with evidence.”

TOPIC: USA today argues that children born to illegal immigrants can not secure their parents legal status until they are 21 years of age. Roy back argues that while this may be true, green cards are often granted when a child exists because the government doesn't want to separate parents from their children. What do you think? Introduction
 Immigration
Illegal immigrants with children in the country should be granted green cards for a number of reason among them being that they to deserve to have the opportunity to give their families a better life as much as anyone does. Giving illegal immigrants green cards gives them the opportunity to look for better life by providing them with the means to pursue work and employment in the country. Illegal immigrants who have no criminal record should be given green cards as they are already in conformity with the law and thus are not in violation of any law. Giving illegal immigrants green cards allows them to work and be productive. It is important to note that illegal immigrants are individuals who live in a country without citizenship. They got into the country through illegal means such as border crossing (Haugen and Musser). However they deserve to be given green cards, after being vetted for criminal records since majority of them are only looking for a better life and an chance to work in a country they term to be full of opportunities to support themselves and their families. This is the reason why illegal immigrants with children should be given green cards.
Illegal immigrants should be given green cards because they are looking for a better life for both themselves and their families. It is vital that one understands that immigrants move from their native country into another in order to escape the prevailing circumstances in their native country, which make life for them and their families to be difficult and unbearable. There are a number of reasons immigrants move to another country, they may all not be similar but they impact the lives of the people living their enough to make them go and live in another country. These may include wars, political state of the country, poor working conditions as well as lack of opportunities especially career wise among others. It is only humane and logical to give such individuals the opportunity to improve themselves and create a good life for their families (LUX). However it is important to note that as much as everyone deserves a chance to have a good life, proper vetting should be done in order to avoid criminal elements from attaining citizenship. "I wanted something better for my family," he said. "I told my mother I was leaving. She told me to think about it. I did not say goodbye to anyone at school. I went to school on Thursday and never returned Friday," said Islas-Martinez. Majority of illegal immigrants genuinely are looking for a good life without causing any harm to the citizen of the country as well as committing crime. Giving illegal immigrants with children the opportunity to live a good life will make it easy for them to raise their families in a safe and supporting environment, compared to their native country. It is also harsh and being inhumane to deport a family who have come into the country to seek a good life for their children and themselves simply because they got in illegally. As much as they broke the law, they do deserve the chance to have a better life (LUX).
Illegal immigrants with children should be given green cards with regard to their criminal records. In some instances immigrants come into a country to seek refuge and safety as in the case of fleeing from a war tone country. The immigrants come into the country and quietly live their lives without breaking any laws, to them this is a chance to start over and live a completely different life from their previous ones. Having a family that does this for their own safety only seems reasonable. However, the fact that they are law abiding individuals makes it more reasonable for them to be given green cards since they conduct and live by the established laws of the land. Being an illegal immigrant does not mean that one not law abiding.
Poverty is a common reason why people move from one country to another. This is because they are in search of employment opportunities, which are not accessible in their countries. This relates to the fact that illegal immigrants should be given green cards as long as they are able to work and earn a living (Porter). In the case for immigrants with children, it is crucial that they work in order to support their children. As long as they are normal working, dare I say citizens since they are contributing to the country’s economy. “Research has found that immigrants including the poor, uneducated ones coming from south of the border have a big positive impact on the economy over the long run, bolstering the profitability of American firms” said Eduardo. They need to be given green cards in order to make money for them to afford to live in the country. Housing, food and shelter is necessary for anyone survival and availing the means to acquire them is through acquisition of green cards, it is only logical to give them to the immigrants. "Sometimes, she had only enough food for the children, and she did not eat," Islas-Martinez said. "We used to see her crying."
