Intertestamental Personality: Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great was Macedonia’s king between 336 and 323BC. He is currently termed as among the greatest military geniuses of all time mainly after defeating Persian Empire. Alexander was the son of Macedonia’s king, Philip II and princess Olympias in Pella Babylon who are born in July 20,0356. (Green, 14). His tutor was a Greek philosopher Aristotle hired by his father. He became the king after the death of his father. He died on June 10, 0324 at the age of 32.
In the fourth century, Alexander had the great impact in propelling Greece thus making Greece the fifth world power in Bible history. Due to this reason, He was referred to us Alexander the Great. There was nothing mentioned in the Bible record about Prophets of God who existed or were active during Greek supremacy era not forgetting there were no inspired Bible books in that period. Despite that there was no history of the Greek Empire in the Bible; relevant prophecy is revealed in the Bible (Green, 26). The Bible as well make a large number of references to Greek culture as well as Greek religion more so in the book of Acts written by Luke who was a physician.
