It is often said that a hero is an ordinary man that was brave for five more minutes. In literary romance, the above quote is accurate because most ordinary men become heroes by taking a bold decision where other ordinary men are not willing to make the same decisions. For instance, in the medieval literary romance of the Arthurian legends and the Shakespearian tragedy, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Macbeth respectively had heroes.
