Student’s Name Professor Course Date What are the Most Significant Leadership Qualities You Can Name and Describe? Leaders play an integral role in managing organizations; they must support discourses that optimize future sustainability. This goal must also be achieved regardless of the existing resource limitations and erratic changes in the operating environment. To this end, strategic thinking and flexibility are the two most significant leadership qualities that help leaders to achieve organizational goals amidst environmental variations. Strategic thinking helps leaders to anticipate imminent trends and develop coping mechanisms. Adzeh claims that leaders who reason strategically figure out how their institutions should respond to predicted changes in their operating environment (4). When leaders embrace forward-thinking, they identify impending disruptive trends and apply adaptation and resilience strategies (Dionisio 47). For example, when the COVID-19 struck, Dell’s leaders had already developed the firm’s infrastructure to support remote work. As a result, the company evaded the disruptive effect of the pandemic by allowing its software engineers to work from home (Kim 48). Generally, this evidence suggests that strategic thinking is one of the core leadership attributes that support organizational resilience. Flexibility enables leaders to adjust to changes in the operating surroundings. A flexible leader appreciates that a variation has either occurred or is imminent and adapts accordingly (Casey 229). Notably, these leaders protect their organizations from risks while ensuring continuity (Putriastuti & Stasi 96). For instance, Toyota has been a leading automaker for years, but the company’s leadership realized that the industry is rapidly shifting to electric vehicles. In response, it commenced the production of electric cars to cope with the prevailing trend (Sanguesa 379). Overall, this evidence proves that flexibility enables leaders to steer their organizations towards continuity. In summary, this essay has examined the two most important leadership attributes and has argued that strategic thinking and flexibility are the top-most qualities that enable leaders to maintain organizational relevance despite the prevailing changes. While strategic leaders think of future trends and mastermind projects for long-term sustainability, flexible leaders identify a change and innovate adaptive strategies to remain relevant in the industry. Without these qualities, leaders cannot guarantee the future of their businesses. Works Cited Adzeh, Komlan J. "Strategic Leadership: An Empirical Study of Factors Influencing Leaders’ Stra...
