The human brain is made up of various parts with specific functions to play in everyday lives. Each part of the brain is designed to undertake complex and vital function, even for the simplest tasks of the day. In case one receives an invitation from a friend to spend an evening socializing, eating pizza, and playing cards, many parts of the brain, including the occipital lobe, hypothalamus, hippocampus, and Broca’s area will play their respective roles in ensuring success of the mission.
When the friend first communicates the idea behind spending the evening, action of the broca’s area begins. The broca’s area is the part of the brain that is responsible for production of language, which enables an individual to process sounds into words. In other words, without the broca’s area, communication between the two individuals would be impossible. The broca’s area will play a vital role in ensuring that both parties continue communicating throughout the evening. Without involvement of the broca’s area, then the two friends will be sitting close to one another in silence making the evening dull and uninteresting.
After communicating the idea of spending a fun-filled evening to the friend, the work of the hippocampus comes into play. The hippocampus is the part of the human brain that is responsible for storing and processing memory. The hippocampus helps in maintaining both immediate and long-term memory. This part of the brain will help in coordinating activities that will take place during the evening. For instance, remembering rules of the game, how to shuffle cards, following the correct sequence of play, and remembering old stories that would form part of the evening talks to accompany the game. Without the involvement of the hippocampus, the activities of the evening may be impossible. The reason is that almost all activities rely on memory and stored information on various ways of handling different circumstances.
The hypothalamus is the part of the brain that is responsible for maintaining body functions like thirst and hunger. During the course of the evening, the hypothalamus will constantly send signals for procurement of required substance of condition. For instance, in case of hunger, the hypothalamus will signal that pizza is required, and in case of thirst, the signal will recommend taking a soda to quench the thirst.
