Pharmaceutical research and manufacturing industries have been growing in volume and scope since time immemorial. Through research, scholars have been able to identify different types of drugs used to treat new and existing diseases. This research has been necessitated by the continued development of drug resistant strains of known organisms. On the other hand, pharmaceutical manufacturing in the 21st century has facilitated supply of enough drugs to all parts of the world to aid in the fight against diseases that have been a major setback to the overall economic, social and political development in different countries.
Information technology is the backbone to the storage and retrieval of patient data. The world is moving towards adopting Electronic Health Management (EHR) system to facilitate proper handling of patient data. This has been seen to enhance care of patients and hence improving the overall health outcome amongst patients.
