The American Civil War 1861-1865
American Civil War of 1861 to 1865 has been identified as the most dangerous battle that induced changes between Confederacy and Union Party. The civil war was characterized by different causes such as slavery. The war resulted in the loss of many people that is over 650,000 military and more than 450,000 people who were captured. After the war, the central national government was important since it participated in controlling different areas, as discussed in the paper.
The central national government assisted in regulating foreign affairs (DeBoer 56). The central government has not changed since independence, but it has been interpreting powers in various affairs. Different sources describe the economy as the other root cause of the Civil War. To regulate the economy between the states, the central government had to control domestic trade to ensure there is equal distribution of goods and services within the states. The division between North and South America was catalyzed by unequal sharing of resources. The southern part concentrated more on agricultural products, thus leading to grievance since slaves were highly needed to provide labor. The central government intervened the slavery trade, thus helping to mobilize the society on negative impacts associated with the slavery trade (DeBoer 156). Besides, the development of the central national government was crucial since it provided a defense. During the war, America was receiving foreigners from different neighboring countries since there was no adequate defense on respective borders. The development of government, therefore, ensured there was full security within the states and also at the borders.
