It is understandable why George Washington tried to avoid the American party system of governance. However, as eager as he was to stop party systems, he became a member of a party during the onset of American politics. Afterward, several parties have been formed in America. Such parties have been created for different purposes; from different motivations, as well as under different thoughts and motives. While some of such parties have made massive contributions, others have crumbled without plausible contributions. Parties have also been split due to differences in opinion and objectivity, among other reasons. The first case was the differentiation between the Democratic-Republicans and the Federalists. The split resulted from variation in individual status, objectives, and thoughts, as well as design. Democratic-Republicans formed the opposition in 1792. They were also regarded as the Republicans and the Anti-Federalists.
The differences in individual status, objectives, and thoughts, as well as the design, made Democratic-Republican oppose Federalists. The society that formulated Democratic-Republicans included those who despised policies created by the Federalists (Banning 171).
