The European Revolution after 1815
Europe witnessed drastic changes in the 18th and 19th century. Britain, as a nation saw the shift from the use of simple handmade tools in agriculture to the more sophisticated industrial tools. Cottage industries faced stiff competition from factories that could produce more at a faster and efficient rate. Several factors led to the rapid spread of the industrial revolution throughout Europe after 1815; critically, this expansion had an effect of the social ambiance of the continent as examined below.
Britain was among the first countries in the world to experience the industrial revolution. However, after 1815, most European nations began experiencing the revolution in their agricultural and production industries. One of the most significant triggers of the industrial revolution in the European continent was the population influx (O’Brien 201). The increase in population led to a rise in the number of people who supplied the needed labor force. Additionally, more refined methods of production became essential to provide the primary needs of the increased population.
