The crucial concept that is demonstrated in the relationship between God and the Hebrew people is that He was their creator while they were His children made in his image and likeness (Cunningham, Lawrence, John & Lois Fichner 194). They believed that God existed before creation and He called everything to existence which included them. Additionally, the connection between the Hebrew and God was that He was their ruler and they were His subjects. For instance, God made a covenant with the Hebrews and gave out the Ten Commandments in which He commanded them on how they were to relate with Him as well as each other and, prohibited them from acting in certain ways which He considered sinful (Cunningham et al 196).
