How the First President Was in Line with How the Americans Viewed Slaves (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

It is a book review for Never Caught: The Washington’s relentless pursuit of their runaway slave. By Erica Armstrong Dunbar.
On some days, it seems like running is all people do, from simple duties lie going to work and finishing up on chores. Every person is always on the move, and in the "Never caught," this has been depicted exceptionally. The author Armstrong Dunbar uses the judge's story as her framework to give the exciting story of George and Martha and their treatment as slaves. When the two got married, slaves were reorganizing as the mistress moved to Mount Vernon. The 21-year-old Betty must have breathed a sigh of relief as she is free to move with her baby. The book depicts how the first president was in line with how the Americans viewed slaves and their property. It allows the author to align Washington's with the everyday slave experiences at the time. As described in the book, the wedding of George and Martha brings immense joy among the slaves.
