Europe and the American Empire
The Founding Fathers of the American Empire were history students from Rome and Europe. In particular, the United States of America (USA) was a republic founded with a system of checks and balances. Since the Roman Republic had become corrupt and leaders were greedy, the establishment of America was meant to curtail these immoral actions and dominate the Western Hemisphere. The disunity of Europe occurred since different leaderships were fighting against one another to establish the most powerful. In other terms, Europe was a collection of squabbling dynasties and states. The efforts of Napoleon Bonaparte to reestablish the European Empire did not succeed (Study Guide #4 19). This paper compares and contrasts the successful creation of an American Empire with disunity of Europe in the 19th century.
At some point, the British Empire had thirteen colonies in the USA. However, that did not prevent America from becoming an empire. In reality, being a colony of the British was an advantage to the USA since it became familiar with the colonist's imperial system. The establishment of the British colonies in the USA occurred between the years of 1607 and 1732 (Study Guide #4 24). Although Americans were not free, they benefited from various things such as military conquest, stock companies, religious dissenters, and single proprietors. Due to the diverse backgrounds of colonies in America, it was evident that when they come together, they would emerge as the dominant world power. The common thing among all these colonies was the British culture that includes the English Bill of Rights of 1689. The home of the American Revolution was New England and Boston. Some of the occasions that enabled the USA to attain freedom from its British colonies are the Boston Tea Party, massacre, the battle of Bunker Hill and Lexington and Concord (Study Guide #4 26). New England was unable to suppress the rebellion from Americans where they gradually evacuated the region.
Geography and culture significantly contributed to the expansion of the American Empire. For this reason, the USA became a large, unified, and powerful nation. In contrast, the British Empire comprised of a collection of competing states and dynasties that eventually fought their own civil war, which gave rise to the World War I. The geographical location of the USA played a significant role toward its expansion to the rest of the world (Brooks). In reality, all the neighboring states, particularly the Europeans who were explorers must have passed through America. As such, Americans were familiar with people from different places since it acted a safe harbor. That is why the British did not encounter difficulty in occupying in North America before establishing colonies.
When it comes to culture, Americans were more welcoming than Europeans. Specifically, it was hard for the natives to have conflicts with white settlers as long as they did not trespass their bound
