A conflict can be defined as an argument or a disagreement over an idea. People tend to view conflict as a negative thing in a workplace because it may put people in enmity. However, conflicts within a workplace are critical. When a conflict arises, it brings awareness of a problem within the workplace and a solution to the problem. Whenever a conflict is valued within a workplace, it encourages a good environment where any change is seen as positive (Smith et al., 538-551). Thus, creating a passionate disagreement environment helps create a better work product. However, in encouraging conflicts within a workplace, careful monitoring is necessary to ensure that the conflict does not become counterproductive or get out of control. During decision-making, conflicts may occur due to misunderstandings over an opinion. The opinions mostly may be due to members' figures switching from each other or being too personal. Therefore, when a conflict arises, a leader's responsibility is to solve the conflict peacefully through interceding among the conflicting parties (Avgar, Ariel, 281-311). there are ways of solving a conflict when it arises. They include; negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. The leader should always remind the team of the primary goal of being at the workplace and the importance of solving conflict to encourage strategic organizational changes.

A conflict arises due to a variety of reasons. In a group, differing opinions among the members result in a disagreement. Thus, individual responsibility and People should have a good attitude towards conflict because conflict also brings a positive result. However, leaders have an obligation also in solving disputes. For instance, the case of Gorge Floyd demands from people about changing how the responsibilities and law enforcement operations. In contrast, there have been other demands that law enforcement leaders must realize that some change is essential. With such a conflict between two different parties, leaders must collaborate with the stakeholders to determine the changes, which may even require long-term adaptability (Reny & Newman, 1499-1507).
