The First fasting Experience
During my first fasting, I was afraid since I had never fasted before. Imagining spending a day without food, I was convincing myself that I would not be able to study well. I was so hungry, and since I was still at school, my friends would go to play computer games, I would not accompany them since our fasting plan restricted any form of entertainment. I was left alone and with no one to talk to. Some old feelings sprung up, a sensation of abandonment rekindled in my mind, I remembered the time our dad left us and remarried. My love for computer games also compelled me to follow my friends just to watch them play the games. I was grieved in my heart due to this feeling but after seeking God to know the reason behind my urges, I learned that I needed to fast with the right heart motivation. Also, it was revealed to me that I was too attached to fleshly desires and worldly pleasures to an extent that they had taken over the place of the only source of peace.
