The question of infant breastfeeding is embedded and continuously made within a woman's social and cultural context. Despite the benefits of infant breastfeeding and the government policy to protect public breastfeeding, it remains a controversial issue (Sheehan, Athena, Karleen, and Virginia). Debates and researches have been done to find a solution as to whether mothers should breastfeed their infants in public or not.
Many outcomes of these efforts to find a solution have made it acceptable for mothers to breastfeed their infants in public.
