Fear Appeals
Like other emotions, fear has appeared to be a fascinating topic for different kinds of people. Such persons include novelists, philosophers, artists, and psychologists among others. Fear plays an outstanding role in almost every novel. Without an element of fear in a novel, a writer probably might have no story to give. Some consider fear like a disease that “consumes” the logic of a person, thus making him or her to be inhuman. Others consider fear as a tool for getting safety. There are numerous reading materials concerning fear appeals. One of such materials is an article titled Uplifting Fear Appeals: Considering the Role of Hope in Fear- Based Persuasive Messages by Myrick and Nabi. The article contains several arguments, findings and concepts that overlap with other materials.
