Women’s And Gender Studies: How Gender Shapes and Frames the Study of Personal Relationships
Introduction
In the present society, women have compelling influence over many decisions that affect their routine lives while interacting with the male gender. It is evident in the most conservative communities, where feminists and gender-equality adherents manage to put forth equitable policies. Pre-historic times lacked the avenues for women to educate themselves well and acquire sufficient enlightenment to advocate for their welfare. However, times have tremendously changed with the introduction of more accessible education, political power slots, and material assets. These variables have enabled women to gather massive influence to attain equality with the male gender. There are currently legions of women’s movements formed for social and political reasons. Social relations, therefore, hinge on the communication channels and temperature that empowered women to demonstrate towards the opposite gender. Men have to undergo different vetting processes that affirm their capability to hold rational discussions with women. The empowerment that women receive from acquiring education and political power hugely influences their relationships with men in many ways. In this regard, this paper seeks to provide an evidence-based description of the ways that gender frames and shapes the study of personal relationships.
Discussion
Gender and its effect on Social Relations
There exists cogent evidence that gender is the fountain of social relations because of different reasons. The primary rationale is that gender coordinates behavior and organizes social relations, which is the origin of gender relations’ influences. Gender usually takes the central role of a background identity that induces bias in gendered directions to facilitate an excellent performance of social behaviors. The framing of social relations emanates from gender, which is an understanding that every individual must have to effectively recognize the structure of the social relations of contemporary society (Ridgeway 149). Modern-day sociology depends on structuralism that sees racial and gender inequality as an imperative of broad institutional and organizational frameworks with fortified bases. Gender has manifested its workability of social relations through the demonstration of multilevel systems, institutions, and structures of different social practices that constitute shared reinforcing processes.
