Strength of a Woman
In today’s world, women are considered equal to men and even warriors whose actions are worthy to follow. This has been lead due to their participation in various activities that were earlier considered hard and only for men. In history, a number of women have really performed in multiple tasks that have indeed proved that a woman can be regarded as equal to a man. For instance, Mother Teresa is one of the women who engaged in various operations that ensured the life and dignity of the poor, the sick, the dying and the street children were respected.
“Mather Teresa actions such as her dedications to serving the poor are greatly valued since she had to leave the convent and went to live with them. She began missionary work with them where she voluntary took over their poverty. In 1950 she established a mission of charity that begun attracting recruit and donation for helping the poor and the needy. Later in the 1960s, her request to expand the congregation to various countries outside India was approved by Pope Paul VI.”(Baldoni & John,23) By 2012 the mission was in 133 countries were its major operation included helping of Refugees, former prostitute, mentally ill, lepers and people with AIDS. In 1952, she opened a Hospice for the sick and the dying in Kolkata. The hospice was meant to provide medical care to the needy and gave an opportunity for people to die with dignity according to their faith.
