A reconstruction of the earliest known Homo sapienssapiens fossils was found at Jebel Irhoud in Morocco, who is believed to have lived between 250,000 and 150,000 years ago, although modern human origins date back to 300,000 years ago. The term Homo sapiens sapiensrefer to the modern man who has advanced brain and skull formation, minimal brow ridges, rounded cranium, small teeth and jaws, retracted face under a well-developed forehead, obvious chin and a hand is fully formed with the ability of the palm to grip on an object.
Archaeologists point out three models which describe the origin of modern man. These models are: Complete Replacement or “Out of Africa” Model, the Multiregional Model and the Shared Assumption or Assimilation or Partial Replacement Model.
As the name suggests, the Complete Replacement argues that modern man originated from Africa, some 300,000 years ago. The model explains that approximately 50,000 years ago, modern human beings migrated into all the regions of the world. Supporting data show that origin of modern man was found in Africa. From this modern man, there are traces of distinct anatomically distinct human lineages in every part of the world. Archeologists point out that in the Multiregional Model, modern humans originated from Europe, Africa and Asia. The model states that the Asian Homo Erectus is theprogenies of the modern East Asians, Neanderthal gave rise to modern Europeans and the African Homo heidelbergensis gave rise to modern Africans.Supporting data from this model relies on hypothetical analysis. The Partial Data Model is a cross between the Complete Replacement or “Out of Africa” M
